Regulation: a tool for fostering a harmonious relationship between PhD students and supervisors.
As in any professional situation, communication difficulties and even tensions can arise during the thesis, causing stress and hindering its smooth progress as well as everyone's well-being.
Keen to provide the best possible support to the doctoral student-supervisor pairing, the management of each doctoral school is a privileged point of contact, ready to listen to you.
At your request and with the agreement of the various parties, it can mobilize the Regulatory Unit set up at the doctoral college level.
Independent of the doctoral school and the laboratory, and based on confidentiality and neutrality, this mechanism aims to facilitate communication by enabling:
Stakeholders to engage in a process of listening, taking a step back, and sharing the relational difficulties encountered in order to normalize communication and ease tensions.
Expressing one's needs and feelings and explaining oneself with respect for others and oneself,
Identifying shared and co-constructed avenues for resolution and progress.
The mediation is organized over 2 to 3 sessions, with everyone free to withdraw from the process at any time!
Are you experiencing difficulties and interested in this opportunity? Please do not hesitate to contact your Doctoral School.
