Committed to a quality process for welcoming international students, Université Grenoble Alpes was awarded the "Bienvenue en France 2 étoiles" label at the end of May 2020, a label issued by Campus France and validated by an independent commission. UGA and its institutions therefore join the list of 89 labeled institutions among the 183 committed to the process. This label is in line with the international attractiveness policy developed by UGA.
«The international dimension is at the heart of UGA's strategy, both in terms of training and research. The site welcomes more than 9,000 foreign students and 47% of doctoral students are international. The quality of the welcome given to these international students is one of our priorities, contributing to the attractiveness of our institution and, more generally, to France's international influence. This label thus commits us to continue our action in conjunction with our partners to offer our international students the best conditions of welcome, » says President of Université Grenoble Alpes.

It responds to the commitments announced by Prime Minister Édouard Philippe on 19 November 2018. This strategy aims to improve the reception of international students and reach the goal of 500,000 students in France by 2027.

The offer of training in French as a foreign language (FLE), intended to develop the level of French of the students hosted is also one of the actions promoted. valorisées.
The quality of life on the campuses as well as the offer of housing reserved for international students thanks to our partnership with the CROUS Grenoble Alpes were also among the determining criteria.
