Enrolment / Re-enrolment
Each year PhD students must enroll or re-enroll pedagogically in their Doctoral School and administratively at the level of the Doctoral College.
PhD Training
The doctorate includes 120 hours of training divided into 40 hours of scientific training, 40 hours of cross-disciplinary training and 40 hours on career development.
Thesis Monitoring Committee (CSI)
An individual thesis monitoring committee (CSI) of the PhD student ensures the smooth running of the course based on the doctoral charter and the training agreement.
Thesis Defense
It is necessary to declare one's willingness to organize one's theis defense at least 10 weeks beforehand and to follow a precise procedure to obtain the authorization for the defense.
PhD Student Rights & Representatives
The Doctoral College is particularly mobilized for the respect of the rights of PhD students, which can be found in the UGA doctoral charter, and in the fight against all forms of discrimination or hacrelation. Each PhD student can also ask for the help of its representatives.
Social and combating inappropriate behavior
UGA provide support to PhD students to address their day-to-day difficulties, whether personal or professional, relating to financial insecurity, well-being, mental health, or the fight against discrimination or harassment.
PhD Career
The PhD student's professional project is defined from his first year in order to choose the best training courses and follow the workshops that will prepare him for his career pursuit and the development of his skills.
