Committed to a quality process for welcoming international students, Université Grenoble Alpes was awarded the "Bienvenue en France 2 étoiles" label at the end of May 2020, a label issued by Campus France and validated by an independent commission. UGA and its institutions therefore join the list of 89 labeled institutions among the 183 committed to the process. This label is in line with the international attractiveness policy developed by UGA.
The labeling process launched by Campus France is anchored in the "Choose France" campaign, in favor of a national policy to develop the attractiveness of higher education institutions for international students. It responds to the commitments announced by Prime Minister Édouard Philippe on 19 November 2018. This strategy aims to improve the reception of international students and reach the goal of 500,000 students in France by 2027.
In order to obtain the "Bienvenue en France" label, Université Grenoble Alpes highlighted all the initiatives it has put in place, in particular its one-stop shop for international students: the International Students & Scholars Office (ISSO). ISSO informs, welcomes and accompanies international students (students, PhD students, researchers and families) on various aspects, in particular accommodation, administrative procedures and residence rights. The offer of training in French as a foreign language (FLE), intended to develop the level of French of the students hosted is also one of the actions promoted. valorisées.
The quality of life on the campuses as well as the offer of housing reserved for international students thanks to our partnership with the CROUS Grenoble Alpes were also among the determining criteria.
